Summary
When the single currency comes into force, it will have a major impact on European enterprises. This pilot project aims to create a technical base to help such enterprises in adapting to the changes that the Euro will bring and also in preparing their staff for the event.
EFFET EURO will consist of : a preliminary examination of the knowledge and needs of enterprises; a general long-distance training module on the introduction of a single currency; and sector-specific training modules.
The project will involve seven phases over a two year period. The first two phases will define and apply the necessary methodology to study the needs of enterprises. The third phase will involve collecting all legal texts concerning the implementation of the Euro. During the fourth phase, a diskette containing a general training module will be created and made available on the Internet. The fifth phase will consist of choosing the sectors requiring a specific training module in view of their interest in and awareness of the Euro, such as import/export enterprises and banks. The sixth phase will be to create specific self-training modules on CD-ROM and to finalise the general training module, taking all new legislation into account. During the final phase, the products will be disseminated and distributed through partner networks, Chambers of Commerce and Euro Info Centres.
