FAWORIT 2022-2023 | Fascinating World of Researchers in the Age of Technology - Alliance with Citizens

Summary
The main objective of our proposal is to bring researchers closer to the general public, engage them with citizens and encourage the youth, especially girls, to embark on scientific careers. We will use a mission-oriented, impact-focused approach in order to address global challenges and provide innovative solutions. Researchers, their work and hobbies will be presented in an interactive way that educates the public, especially pupils about research and innovation.
A special focus will be given to co-creation, the role of R&I in the society and the economy, and societal relevance of EU research policy and to improve science communication. Researchers to Schools pre- & post events will be organised throughout the two years in order to sustain pupils` interest raised and support teachers developing new entertaining approaches when educating priority topics such as digital, green and sustainable development, health, etc.
The involvement of many different actors across various disciplines and sectors will achieve a high impact and make researchers` work familiar. Our main target group is students of age 6-26, but we aim to address all age groups with attractive programmes and demonstrate that both scholars and innovators can be discovered amongst us, and being a researcher is indeed cool and creative!
Our venues cover the whole country. As the result of the awareness raising campaign several organizations will join the Researchers` Night, the most important science communication event in Hungary, thus contributing to the multiplication of the visitors. We have the experience of 11 years to reach our ambitious but realistic goal of getting 30000 people at our venues on the two-day event, but many more will attend at partners` venues that join later. Millions will see, hear or read about the NIGHT. At each venue, EU-related info points will be set up to raise awareness of the EU engagement in R&I through the participation of EU projects with a special focus on MSCAs.
