Summary
900 million patients globally suffer from urinary dysfunction. Setting the right diagnosis and deciding upon the right treatment (medication, assistive devices, rehabilitation and/or surgery) can sometimes be very challenging. Today's technology provides a limited 15 min snapshot based on the artificial filling of the bladder. There is a clear need for a technology that can provide high resolution, accurate and realistic bladder pressure data over time based on natural filling. PRESSURO is a revolutionary micro and nanotechnology pressure sensor system based on more than 10 years of research at SINTEF. The sensor will be inserted directly into the bladder and enable continuous measurement based on natural physiology for up to 30 days. This solution will provide a completely new understanding of bladder function and enable better diagnosis and treatment for millions of patients.
