COMP-ECO | STRENGTHENING MAZOVIAN MULTIFUNCTIONAL COMPOSITE ECOSYSTEM THROUGH A HOLISTIC APPROACH AND A STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH EUROPEAN LEADERS

Summary
The COMP-ECO key objective is to improve the research excellence in the field of fiber-reinforced polymer multifunctional composites and smart structures of the Polish Mazovia region-based ecosystem formed by TPF, AFIT, and WUT, and to create a sustainable network for scientific and technological cooperation with leading EU technical universities of DELFT and DRESDEN.

The COMP-ECO approach provides for the following comprehensive measures:
1) A holistic series of technical workshops covering the entire product life cycle chain: design, manufacturing, testing, and re-use / re-cycle;
2) Skills acquisition and networking through temporary positions of Polish senior researchers and externships of young researchers at DELFT and DRESDEN;
3) An ambitious joint exploratory research followed by strong dissemination and exploitation measures;
4) Training on project management and administration for both researchers and supporting staff;
5) Strong involvement of an external Scientific and Industrial Advisory Board to learn about industrial needs and to appropriately design the R&I offer;
6) Adoption of Partners’ Long-Term Strategy for Joint Research, based on SIAB’s advice, and creating an institutional framework for sustainable cooperation.

This will allow to raise the research profile of the participating institutions and to enhance their scientific and technological capacity in order to establish a regional competence hub allowing for successful participation in EU competitive research and for significantly contributing to the dynamically growing regional, national and European composites market. This will be done in line with Polish national and Mazovia regional Smart Specialisations, the Made in Europe Partnership objectives, and the Green Deal sustainable development principles.
