RoboTwin | RoboTwin - bringing the smart robot teaching tool to the European market

Summary
We are RoboTwin and our vision is to make automation of specialized jobs finally efficient with smart robot teaching.
It all started with finding out that even today, in the age of hi-tech industries, a huge number of jobs in manufacturing are done manually. The reason for that is that these jobs are so complex and specialized, that conventional automation is impossible or extremely inefficient for them.
Spray painting is an example of such a complex job that is rarely automated. In Czech republic 80% of all paint shops are purely manual, which means they need skilled painters to work in unhealthy and demanding conditions to fulfill the production demand.
“Robotization is clearly a trend! Unfortunately, it is not easy at all. The robot programming is not doable for most paint shops. What they would need is a painter transformed into a robot programmer.” Jan Drápela, Sales Director in GALATEK a. s.
This need is exactly what our RoboTwin solution addresses. RoboTwin is automation based on motion tracking and imitation. It is a set of hardware and software that tracks worker’s motion, extracts his know-how and generates an optimal robot program. Worker demonstrates painting process of the first product and RoboTwin automatically translates these movements into a program to teach the robot. All the other products in the series are painted by the robot and the result is as good as when the painter does it themselves.
The worker becomes the robot teacher, SMEs don’t need robot programmers anymore. RoboTwin transforms routine manual jobs into collaborative automation and thus allows workers to spend less time in unhealthy working environments.
Our solution brings higher robot utilization, because one can teach many robots at the same time, even the most complex tasks can be automated, and we save time and resources since we are fast and accurate. Woman Tech EU grant will help us to get ATEX certification, commercialize our product and secure investment in 2024.
