EuroNanoForum 2023 | Nanotechnology and advanced materials for a sustainable and safe Europe

Summary
Nanotechnology and advanced materials play a major role in our society providing the underlying functionality to a wide range of devices, machinery, and services used daily by citizens, industries, businesses, health care and government. As a result, the continued development and implementation of these technologies are a key guarantee for sustainability and improvement of the lives of the people in Europe. Advanced materials and nanotechnology are central in development of new energy technologies, are the basis of the hardware of the digital and information society and will be crucial in establishing a circular economy significantly decreasing our environmental footprint. This affects the European Green Deal, Europe fit for the Digital age and an economy that works for people.

EuroNanoForum 2023, to be held on 11–13 June 2023 in Lund, Sweden, is a conference of a major strategic nature that is focused on identifying policy options and priorities and on planning future actions regarding European activities on advanced materials, nanotechnology, innovation, sustainability, circular economy as well as materials and fossil-free energy. This will be achieved by combining the collective effort of actors encompassing innovation, research, industry, public authorities, investors and civil society. The event will examine the role of nanotechnology and advanced materials in contributing to cross sectorial industry challenges and solutions for boosting the economy through clean technology and making the EU's economy sustainable and resilient to future crisis.

As an outcome, the event will supply innovate solutions and common lines of action to address both, present challenges of energy and supply crises and to use lessons learned in the present day to prepare Europe to solve long term challenges of climate change and environmental degradation while making the transition just and inclusive for all.
