Summary
Considerable progress has been made in the FET Open SPRINT project. Technology has been developed for the vapour phase deposition of metal-organic framework thin films in mild conditions. Metal-organic frameworks are crystalline nanoporous materials of which the pore properties can be tuned. Derivative applications of this technology are being explored such as gas sensors and low-k insulator films for microelectronics. Proof-of-concept gas sensors based on MOF thin films have been built and evaluated. MOVOS focuses on gas sensors and aims to build market and technical knowledge by close interaction with the value chain. In addition a portable demonstrator will be developed that builds further on the lab sensor concepts.
