AR_GREEN_CAM | Augmented Reality GREEN_CAmera and Manufacturing

Summary
We will improve state of the art opto-electronic alignment processes with new low-power high-speed approaches, when adopted by the semiconductors industry will save 7.9 million tons CO2 emissions per year. Building the capacity to manufacture millions of cameras per year with minimal human intervention (solely to handle input trays with components and output trays with finished products), enabling high quality production in Europe at an extremely competitive cost.

We will introduce novel biodegradable-packaging that when adopted by the semiconductors industry will replace 37.362 tons of plastic.

Our current product replaces several components with a single device, the grant from this project will also replace the main camera of the smartphone, offering a dual-purpose universal camera module capturing full-sensor resolution 2D-images (13 and 48 Mpixels) and improved depth maps (1.4 and 5.3 Mpixels). Today’s AR cameras consume much higher power to generate low-resolution depth-maps (0.05 Mpixels) and require a second camera for 2D images. We will avoid 83.102 tons CO2 emissions per year.

We will drastically improve competitiveness and provide Europe with a lead in a new market. With the “grant” financing this disruptive innovation will generate revenue of $13M in 2023, and $390M by 2025. The “equity” investment will scale-up world class manufacturing facilities for all our products to generate revenue of $1.98 billion by 2025 in a new high growth market. Studies by YOLE and Deutsche Bank size this market at $15 Billion for 2025.

Original description
