Summary
SUSTAINABLE strategic goal is to test and validate new edge artificial intelligence (AI) systems as a Decision Support System, on sound economic and technical basis, for suitable precision agriculture management procedures according to the specific climate, geographical and environment conditions. Having a noSUSTAINABLE strategic goal is to test and validate new edge artificial intelligence (AI) systems as a Decision Support System, on sound economic and technical basis, for suitable precision agriculture management procedures according to the specific climate, geographical and environment conditions. Having a novel tool to face adversities in agriculture, especially in developing countries, will produce positive effects in the global economy (maintaining the cost of agricultural products), will reduce the scale of economic emigration (often due to one or several years of low crop) and will help distribute more evenly richness across the planet. This challenging objective will be obtained through a Transfer of Knowledge plan between experts in biological and biochemical experimental analysis on the one hand, and computational experts on the other hand ( agrofood sensors, edge / fog / mist computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, data management, and biochemical/biophysical analysis). The strength of this project is the multidisciplinary integration of competences together with the validation of project result in a real environment, the Rural Living Lab in rural area in Tunisia, that offers a unique playground for agritech actors (researchers, companies and citizens) and new food/agricultural concepts. This Living Lab will create an open space to start competing in the market, test and validate the AI Tool and Technology to receive immediate feedback from the consumers and professionals (ICT, farmers, nutritionists, chefs, supermarket chains, food producers). SUSTAINABLE involves 9 countries (EU and TC) with 14 beneficiaries and 2 non-Eu partners partners.
