Summary
The future of the Internet-of-things (IoT) will consist of billions of interconnected devices and networks interacting, resulting in an ultra-dense heterogeneous IoT network (IoTN). Such IoTNs, even supported by new cutting-edge technologies, suffer from high interference, high latency, and low reliabilities. Hence, it is imperative to mitigate these issues with the design, optimization, and evaluation of IoTNs to attain a symbiotic relationship among devices within a IoTN. Motivated by these concerns, this fellowship aims to provide algorithms/protocols and medium access design for efficient and effective resource allocation, interference management, lower latency, and higher reliability to achieve a symbiotic IoTN. Dr. Derek Asiedu will as a MSCA fellow receive crucial training at Mid Sweden University, including a five-month secondment at IMT-Atlantique, France, to develop and transfer his unique skills to the research centers.
