Summary
We seek to develop and validate a sensorised surgical gloves. The sensors are based on a multifunctional nanocomposite which is nontoxic and can serve as ultrathin tactile sensors, integrated directly on the fingertips of surgical gloves. These sensorised gloves enable mechanical energy harvesting, force sensing and assessment of several other mechanical parameters from fingertips. Having completed laboratory validation, ex vivo testing and low risk investigations to establish the protocols and preclinical investigation into usability of the device, the current POC project will focus on completing preclinical and clinical studies.
