Summary
Founded in 2012, Domalys is a French SME with headquarters near Poitiers. Domalys was born as a spinoff from its parent company, Metaleo. This manufacturing company creates all kinds of metal products for its clients also allowing Domalys to benefit from its production facilities, technicians and expertise.
Our focus is on creating smart furniture solutions for the elderly as well as the nursing homes that care for them given.
As we know our society faces a broad spectrum of healthcare challenges related to the normal ageing process. Advances in healthcare technology are helping us to lead longer lives than ever, this results in a growing elderly population. Today the elderly (age 65+ years) account for 901 million people worldwide. In Europe, the elderly group is expected to increase from 28% of the total population to 50% by 2060.
In response to this challenge, we (Domalys) have developed Aladin, an innovative inteligent lamp that prevents falls by monitoring and assiting the elderly. It does so through a combination of state of the art analogue sensors capable of detecting the slowest movement and a proprietary software, PrediCare, that analyses behavioural patterns to predict future falls. Aladin will decrease falls by by 76%, thanks to its AI (artificial intelligence). This will improve quality of care, lower mortality rates and empower the elderly population, allowing them to maintain their independence. This solution will in turn boost the growth of our company, generating, by the fourth year after phase 2 execution, a turnover of €25.3 million, with €9.5 million in profits, 68 new people hired and a ROI of 6.57.
