ECO-INK | ECO-INNOVATIVE WATER-BASED INKS FOR THE CERAMIC SECTORS

Summary
The project aims at scaling up high performance, competitive and new green Water Based Inks, which are dissolved in water and eliminate organic solvents, leading consequently to a reduction of inks carbon footprint and toxicity. First trials in SME phase I have proven the ECO-INK inks have high quality performances and enable the production of the polished gres porcelain tiles at an affordable and competitive pricing, suitable for the medium-high level market. Metco srl will bring the ECO-INK Water Based Inks to a ready to market status, by:
A) enlarging the gamut of the magenta, cyan and yellow colours (already formulated);
B) developing a new printing head and its waveform, suitable for our inks;
C) manufacturing the “demo” polished gres porcelain tiles in real production scenario with a selected number of clients and proving their high quality and aesthetics;
D) planning and initiating the market commercialization strategy, for the future market take up of the ECO-INK inks.
The estimated investments are of about €1.421.375 and the co-financing required for the SME Phase 2 is of about €994.963. After the Phase 2, the commercialization strategy will start through Metco already existing international sales network (in Italy, Spain, Poland, Turkey, Egypt, Russia, Korea, China, Brazil, India) by 1st offering the new ECO-INK solution to Metco consolidated portfolio of clients, then reaching new customers in the ceramics sector manufacturing. To pave the way for the ECO-INK inks market uptake and exploitation of the inks, Metco will strongly focus also on dissemination & communication, providing constant and detailed information about the activities and the results achieved, through national and trans-national initiatives: i.e. participation in events\fairs, press releases, flyers\brochures and posters, Web Pages on Metco website, videos.
