A toolkit of indicators for characterising productivity and sustainability

Proposal of a set of soil and crop indicators that determine sustainability of diversified cropping systems at field scale. We will focus on changes in potential productivity rather than calculate an absolute value. This will allow to estimate crop production risks associated with unsustainable management using only simple metrics for factors such as soil texture, SOC, nutrients or pH.
