Report with state of the art review of geochemical composition of operational fluids and flowback water in U.S.A., Canada and Europe with clearly identified gaps in knowledge. Aim: Public dissemination of review of geochemical composition of operational fluids and flowback water in U.S.A., Canada and Europe. Scope: The inventory will outline geochemical composition of operational fluids relevant to shale gas operations and best practices in dealing with expected flow back water compositions, thereby helping to identify potential knowledge gaps and potential developments for operations in Europe.
