Prerequisites for a social license to operate shale gas

Report on future research needs for better understanding: “demands on and expectations for a business enterprise that emerge from neighborhoods, environmental groups, community members, and other demands of the surrounding civil society;” thus contributing to the broader debate about the prerequisites for a “social license to operate” for the (shale) gas industry. Aim: Public dissemination of an inventory of research needs on public perceptions and attitudes. Scope: The inventory serves as a basis for focussing future research on public perceptions, and thereby contributes to establish the prerequisites for a “social license to operate” for the (shale) gas industry.
