Recommendations of geochemical strategy for monitoring shale play exploitation

Summary
Recommendations of geochemical strategy for monitoring shale play exploitation (from the drilling to the analyses and identification of potential leakage pathways) and focus on natural geochemical tracers - the dissolved noble gases - : their behaviour, their detection sensitivity, their geochemical properties in this context. Aim: External peer review and public dissemination of “best practice and recommendations” for a geochemical strategy for monitoring, which can be limited in space but with the advantage that species in all phases (gas, dissolved and with mass balance calculations also precipitated) can be followed. Scope: Put in evidence that noble gases which have specific geochemical properties are very interesting to follow for the best geochemical monitoring strategy. This deliverable can benefit of the work that has been performed in the CO2 geological storage context, at IFPEN.
