Report on harmfulness and hazard of drilling materials and wastes relevant to shale gas operations. Aim: Public dissemination of research on harmfulness of drilling materials and wastes from shale gas operations in Europe. Scope: The research contributes to establishing optimum drilling waste management approaches in Europe that can be used to minimize the impact of shale gas operations on water resources and soils.
