Enhanced facilities on energy efficiency indicators

5 tools gave been developped in the previous ODYSSEE-MURE projects on: 1. A “market diffusion facility” that monitors progress in the market penetration of a selection of energy efficient technologies and practices; 2. A “decomposition facility” that shows the factors responsible for changes in energy consumption over a period (e.g. economic growth, lifestyles, energy savings); 3. A “benchmarking facility” that enables any country to compare its energy performance with the country(s) of its choice with adjusted indicators ; 4. An “energy saving facility” that compiles historical data, targets and projections in terms of energy savings, final and primary energy consumption; 5. A “scoreboard facility” on energy efficiency indicators that compares the energy efficiency performance and progress of countries. It is planned to update these tools as well as enhance the energy saving facility (to include energy savings from Article 7 of EED) and the decomposition facility (including new indicators and develop a methodology to provide a more rapid estimate of the decomposition of the energy consumption variation by sector for the most recent year).
