Synthesis, characterization and catalytic performance of Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 and MnOx/Co3O4 for the methanol synthesis

MnOx/Co3O4 catalysts with different compositions (Mn to Co ratios) will be prepared by different procedures including co-precipitation at controlled pH. Catalysts will be characterized by different techniques including BET, XRD, XPS, ATG and TEM. The catalytic performance for the synthesis of methanol from syngas will be evaluated in fixed bed reactor at different P, T and GHSV and compared against benchmark Cu/Zn/Al2O3 in terms of activity, selectivity and durability.
