Maramures SLO Case Study

We plan to have a new SLO case study to be conducted in Maramures area Romania instead of case study in Spain Spanish case study did not realise and the funds 8 000 reserved for subcontracting in the budget of Beneficiary no 4 University of Lapland would be used for the Maramures case study to be conducted by subcontracted NGO Originally in previous amendment CATAPA Comit Acadmico Tcnico de Asesoramiento a Problemas Ambientales was supposed to conduct one of the Spanish case studies as a subcontractor for the University of Lapland but this unfortunately could not be realised due to time issues and the pandemic situation Thus the Spanish case study and CATAPAs subcontracting is fully cancelledPurpose of the Maramures Case StudyTo understand the differing attitudes of all involved actors at Maramures from 2006 to the present day and try to establish the causes for these attitudes These causes will then be compared to the SLO model developed for the MIREU project to test its validity as to the drivers of the achievement andor loss of SLOThe core of the case study is interviewing and charting the perceptions of those who live and work near the mine As an SLO Toolbox has been developed for the MIREU project introducing the Toolbox to stakeholders including the permitting authorities would be an added benefit though not a direct requirement for the case study
