Summary
Document employed to a) suport the improvement of research-policy coordination in the project domains in order to allow research to really face societal challenges; and b) explaining how the work plan might be amended to better align with the inventory of cooperation and degree of integration of research and innovative practice. The document will explain how the Joint Action Plan is designed to counter those gaps that hinder economic growth by promoting policies that can reduce poverty and vulnerability by diminishing people's exposure to risks, and enhancing their capacity to manage economic and social risks. The JAP will describe a first set of actions for improving the “dialogue” of scientific and institutional fields among EU Member States, non-associate countries and MPC region participants for achieving the objectives set out in the project. The JAP will also provide recommendations for: (1) policy makers in EU and MPC target countries, (2) researchers in EU and MPC target countries; (3) practitioners in energy, food and agriculture, and water sectors; (4) managers of research enterprises such as University Vice Chancellors and Directors of private sector research organizations. This way, JAP contains and meets project’s mission to strongly encourage public/private partnerships in order 1) to counteract the phenomena related to the use of resources; and 2) to reduce the gap between the involved countries by encouraging an economic and social reform.
