Policy Paper on differentiation in EU financial sector

The financial sector is an interesting case study for differentiation not only it has experimented a major integration leap with the establishment of the Banking Union but the exit of the UK poses major challenges for the financial regulation and supervision within the EU and its coordination with nonEU Member States The case study will analyse current institutional arrangements linked to the Banking Union single supervisory and resolution mechanisms as well as mechanisms for regulation and supervision of the EU financial system such as the supervisory authorities ESRB EBA ESMA and EIOPA and for the coordination of financial regulation and supervision between EU Member States and third countries This case study will be conducted by the JDI
