Generation of 2 tunable entangled photons source

Summary
Developed 2 tunable entangled photons light source. Two tunable entangled photons light source will be integrated into the complete system at BGU. One system will be sent to the MUV hospital while the other will remain at BGU as the development prototype. Will foresee the implementation in the lab of an entangled photon source with a high degree of frequency tunability. A tunable high repetition rate laser will allow to generate entangled photons in the wavelength range 680-1064 nm. The source will be based on a PPKTP (periodically poled potassium titanyl phosphate) crystal embedded in a Sagnac interferometric setup. The crystal will be specifically designed to obtain a periodicity change in the poling period depending on the input direction. This will allow coarse tuning of the generated photons wavelength, while fine tuning will be performed by locally adjusting the crystal temperature. UNIROMA will take care and pay to transfer the two scanners to BGU
