Summary
Two study reports on the effect of realistic social stress, motivation and fatigue on effort (ESR3-T2.1; ESR4-T2.2)
T2.1. Develop listening tests that include realistic (social) error-consequences. ESR3 performs a literature review to identify strategies for inducing realistic social pressure and feedback. An experimental study will then assess the influence of social stress on macro-level pupil measures in pairs of subjects conversing together
T2.2. Assessment of the effects of motivation and fatigue on physiological measures reflecting listening effort. ESR 4 will study the influence of motivation and fatigue (time-on-task) on macro-level pupillometry measures in speech perception tasks. Motivation will be manipulated by changing task-reward and by the inclusion of very easy (dummy) trials.
