Summer Academy

A Summer Academy will be organised in London by the UCL Institute for Global Prosperity – ‘Innovating the arts sector: democratisation of access to creative employment for young people’. While the arts contribute a great deal to democratisation of the social, political and economic spheres in terms of ethnic and class, and gender diversity of workforce the arts sector lags behind other segments of the economy in the UK and in other European countries (CCSkills 2013, Creative Skillset 2011 and 2012, DCMS 2014). To address this challenge the IGP Summer Academy will deliver a programme focusing on democratisation of access to creative professions in the arts across the economy for young people.
