Network-based approaches to modulation of brain plasticity and speech prosody in PD using non-invasive brain stimulation

Summary
Networkbased approaches to modulation of brain plasticity and speech prosody in patients with Parkinsons disease PD using noninvasive brain stimulation In this part of the study we will include patients with PD and agematched healthy controls Results from taskinduced brain activation fMRI studies will be used and regions of betweengroups differences in brain activation changes in neural correlates of speech prosody in PD patients will serve as our regions of interest ROIs for targeting an rTMS coil Using rTMS repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation over two identified ROIs and over a control site ie over vertex we will evaluate whether rTMS may be an effective tool to modulate speech prosody in PD We will identify ROI with the best behavioural stimulation aftereffects and then we will use multiplesession rTMS with an aim to treat speech prosody impairment in PD
