Summary
Gravitational waveforms emitted in compact binary mergers, computed in modified theories of gravity such as extended scalar-tensor gravity (Horndesky), quadratic gravity
theories and Lorentz violating theories will be studied through numerical simulations. For some theories, this requires determining the subsets of the theories that is well-posed, i.e. amenable for numerical time evolutions. Scalar-tensor theories allow for a straightforward extension of exisiting general-relativity codes and will therefore be the first to be studied.
