Scenario Definition (for degree of integration)

Summary
Definition of specific, concrete coupling scenarios for further qualitative and quantitative investigation. Based on the hypothesis that it is advantageous to couple a H2 production plant to a NPP and partially integrate and share auxiliary systems and utilities, several scenarios of NPP plant designs and H2 plant types / layouts and sizes are defined for further study in the other work packages. The study results of these specific studies, which are conducted in WP2-WP4 are compared against the reference scenario, which would be the one of a complete independence of the H2 plant from the NPP. The scenario definition builds on the results of a pre-study on existing reactor types and existing electrolysis technologies, which is conducted at the beginning of Task 1.2. Amongst other parameters the scenarios define the• capacity (i.e. MW) of the coupled H2 plant and therefore the amount of the needed utilities (e.g. electricity) and auxiliaries (e.g. DI water), which is then processed to WP2,• the potential spatial proximity to the NPP, also further processed in WP2 and WP4• the potential further new equipment/systems/infrastructure needed for a coupled H2 generation, e.g., H2 storage, pipeline connection etc. also processed to the other WPs (WP2-WP5)
