μLED array for mice

Summary
Task 1.2: Design, fabrication and in vivo testing of a μLED array for mice. (M1-12). Lead partner: UoSIn this tasks, a 2x2 mm, 10x10 μLED array delivering 480nm blue light (10mW/mm2) for patterned optogenetic stimulation of auditory cortex will be produced according to a current prototype available at UoS10, and optogenetic stimulation parameters already used at IP12. Spread and magnitude of cortical responses will be measured in vivo in ChR2 expressing mice at IP using penetrating silicon probes electrophysiology, leading to a calibrated optogenetic stimulation array [Deliverable D1.2]. If spatial resolution of responses is above expectancies (> 400μm half-width diameter, [Milestone 2]), a new design will be performed to narrow the emission cone and improve resolution for WP2 (see WP1.3).
