Data Management Plan

Summary
The RIDERS Project Data Management Plan will be divided into four sections:1. The first section will describe what data will be collected, processed, and generated, focusing on both the corpus of data represented by the equestrian officers included in Hubert Devijver’s work (updated with the new equestrian officers pointed out more recently) and the integrated data, as a result of the final database (individuals, spaces, relations, roles played).2. The second section will explain the innovative methodology which the RIDERS Project aims at developing, by employing a traditional historical approach (mainly based on prosopography and epigraphy), integrated with sociological methods and supported by digital tools. While the traditional methodology will be particularly useful in collecting data, sociological and digital methods can significantly improve the phases of processing and generating data.3. The third section will be devoted to describing how collected and generated data will be shared and made open.4. The last section will discuss how the RIDERS project data will be curated and preserved. The last two sections will highlight the fundamental role played by the digital research environment already developed at the HI by the ERC project PATRIMONIVM in sharing and preserving the RIDERS project data, in line with the FAIR principles.
