Soil Health Index - online tool and user´s guide initial version

Initial outline of the tool, relevant indicators and data architecture. An interactive online tool adapting the USDA Soil Management Assessment Framework (SMFA) for use in a European context and address the Soil Health Mission objectives. The single indicators will be related to specific soil health targets (climate change mitigation, adaptation to climate change, spoil biodiversity, soil nutrient efficiency) to provide core datasets to be measured for monitoring these soil purposes. The indicators are then translated into site-specific scoring functions to allow inter-comparability among different pedological conditions in relation to defined target values. The scored soil health indicators are finally condensed into a unique soil health index that provides an adequate assessment tool for data-driven scientific guidance of the agro-ecological advances obtained in lighthouse farms
