Summary
This initial version will describe existing apps (such as (e.g. SoilCover App for mulch coverage of the soil surface, VESS App for assessment of soil structure quality, Slakes App for evaluation of soil aggregate stability). and their potential for soil health monitoring .Guidelines to make user generated data sufficient in quantity and quality for soil monitoring, enabling land manager - soil advisor - researchers collaboration. It will explore the use of mobile apps for soil health monitoring, notably using machine learning to transform smartphone generated RGB images into hyperspectral images, working with T4.2 to derive measures for soil organic carbon and soil structure from image analytics.
